Care and warranty
Anderson Tuftex
Shaw family. Carpet and engineered hardwood — two different care sheets.
Carpet care
Care
- Vacuum often. High-traffic rooms daily if you can; the whole carpet weekly. Use a vacuum with a rotating brush on most cut-pile. Use suction-only on ultra-soft styles such as Shaw Caress.
- Put walk-off mats at outside doors and keep them clean so sand never works into the pile.
- Blot spills immediately with a white cloth. Scrape solids first. Never rub. Work from the outside of the spot in.
- Use a cleaner the mill names (Shaw Total Care / R2X for Shaw; CRI Seal of Approval products for Engineered Floors and Anderson Tuftex).
- Do not use bleach, ammonia, tile cleaner, oven cleaner, or benzoyl peroxide on the fiber.
- Have the carpet professionally cleaned by hot-water extraction on a CRI-approved system. Shaw asks for this at least every 18 months; Engineered Floors and Dream Weaver every 12–18 months; Anderson Tuftex at least every 24 months. Skipping this can void the stain warranty.

Warranty
- A common current residential broadloom letter is 10 years: quality assurance, stain, pet urine stain, soil, texture retention, delamination / tuft bind / edge ravel, abrasion (no more than 10% face-fiber loss), and premium backing against wrinkles.
- Loop styles often add a 10-year zipper / edge-ravel term.
- Failure to follow Shaw / Anderson Tuftex care — including the wrong cleaner — is an exclusion.
- Hot-water extraction at least every 24 months.

Hardwood care
Care
- Dry-dust or vacuum with a hard-floor tool. Grit is what dulls a factory finish.
- Use a neutral-pH hardwood cleaner on a lightly damp microfiber pad. Never a soaking mop or a steam mop — both are named exclusions on Anderson Tuftex, Norwood Hill, and Nuvelle warranties.
- No oil soap, wax, polish, or two-in-one cleaners with shine additives.
- Blot spills immediately. Standing water cups and peels a hardwood floor.
- Keep indoor humidity in a normal occupied range. Wide seasonal swings open gaps or crown boards and are not a mill defect.
- Felt pads under furniture. Area rugs with a breathable pad; some rubber backs discolor the finish.

Warranty
- Engineered hardwood: limited lifetime structural warranty (milling, assembly, dimension, grading, no delamination when installed and kept to spec).
- Factory finish wear is separately warranted and steps down over time. Light-commercial finish letters are much shorter (commonly five years on named commercial SKUs).
- No steam mop. No wet mop. That is written into the care guide the warranty points at.

Our year on top of theirs
Artistic Design Studio warrants materials and labor for one year on work we sold and installed. The mill letter above is separate and often longer. We keep the order so a factory claim has a ticket. See the studio warranty.
