MSI Surfaces

Care and warranty

MSI Surfaces

Quartz, natural stone, porcelain tile, and some rigid-core vinyl. Different products, different letters.

Tile care

Care

  • Sweep or vacuum grit. Damp-mop glazed porcelain with a pH-neutral tile cleaner.
  • Do not use vinegar, bleach, or abrasive pads on a routine. They etch grout and some finishes.
  • Glazed porcelain does not need sealing. Cement grout often does; follow the grout brand. Natural stone and some unglazed tiles do need a penetrating sealer.
  • Clean grout haze with a haze remover, not more acid on a guess.
  • In a shower, squeegee glass and tile after use. Standing hard water is what clouds the room, not the porcelain.

Official care from the manufacturer

Warranty

  • Most MSI-manufactured tile: one-year limited warranty against manufacturing defect from purchase. Shade variation is not a defect. Visual defects must be flagged before the tile goes on the floor.
  • Install defects are not covered. Report a claim in writing within 30 days of finding it.

Quartz and stone care

Care

  • Wipe with warm water, a soft cloth, and mild soap. Quartz (Cambria, Cosentino Silestone, MSI Q) is nonporous and does not need sealing or polish.
  • Use a closed-weave trivet or hot pad. Do not set a hot pan, slow cooker, air fryer, or griddle on the slab. Thermal shock at the edge is a known failure, not a manufacturing defect.
  • Cut on a board. Quartz is hard; knives are harder on the edge than on the slab.
  • Keep oven cleaner, drain opener, paint stripper, and high-pH stuff off the surface. Rinse immediately if they land.
  • Natural stone from MSI follows stone care: seal, pH-neutral cleaner, no acids on marble.

Warranty

  • Q Premium Quartz: limited lifetime residential warranty to the original purchaser on a private home. Commercial has a separate, shorter letter. Register the slab.
  • Natural stone slabs follow MSI’s stone terms and the fabricator’s workmanship — our one-year labor sits on top of that.

Vinyl and rigid-core care

Care

  • Sweep or vacuum with a hard-floor tool. No beater bar.
  • Damp-mop with a pH-neutral vinyl cleaner. COREtec names Encore; most mills accept a neutral pH hard-surface cleaner.
  • Wipe spills right away. The wear layer is waterproof; standing water at the walls and flooding of the subfloor are not.
  • No steam mop, no wax, no oil soap, no abrasive pads, no bleach stronger than a light dilution the mill allows.
  • Skip rubber-backed mats. They can discolor vinyl.
  • Use pads under furniture and chairs.

Official care from the manufacturer

Warranty

  • Rigid-core LVT wear terms depend on the collection and wear layer — commonly 25-year to lifetime residential, with a shorter light-commercial term. Dent warranties apply only on named thicker collections.
  • The style on your ticket is the one that counts. Keep a leftover plank.

Our year on top of theirs

Artistic Design Studio warrants materials and labor for one year on work we sold and installed. The mill letter above is separate and often longer. We keep the order so a factory claim has a ticket. See the studio warranty.
