Shaw Floors

Care and warranty

Shaw Floors

Carpet, laminate, and other floors from Shaw Industries. The care sheet changes with the product — carpet is not laminate.

Carpet care

Care

  • Vacuum often. High-traffic rooms daily if you can; the whole carpet weekly. Use a vacuum with a rotating brush on most cut-pile. Use suction-only on ultra-soft styles such as Shaw Caress.
  • Put walk-off mats at outside doors and keep them clean so sand never works into the pile.
  • Blot spills immediately with a white cloth. Scrape solids first. Never rub. Work from the outside of the spot in.
  • Use a cleaner the mill names (Shaw Total Care / R2X for Shaw; CRI Seal of Approval products for Engineered Floors and Anderson Tuftex).
  • Do not use bleach, ammonia, tile cleaner, oven cleaner, or benzoyl peroxide on the fiber.
  • Have the carpet professionally cleaned by hot-water extraction on a CRI-approved system. Shaw asks for this at least every 18 months; Engineered Floors and Dream Weaver every 12–18 months; Anderson Tuftex at least every 24 months. Skipping this can void the stain warranty.

Warranty

  • Residential broadloom terms depend on the collection and fiber. Common current letters: 10-, 15-, 20-, and 25-year limited residential warranties (Pet Perfect / Pet Perfect+ sit at the long end).
  • Typical cover: quality assurance (material and workmanship), stain and soil, texture retention, abrasive wear, backing. Many styles add lifetime stain or pet-stain language on named fibers.
  • Labor for a covered defect is often included only in year one. After that the material is prorated on many letters.
  • Not covered: flooding, abuse, improper install, wrong cleaner, bleach on the backing.
  • Keep the style name and the invoice. Shaw dealer claims start here. Care: shawfloors.com/en-us/care-and-warranties/carpet. Warranty: shawfloors.com/en-us/warranties/carpet.

Laminate care

Care

  • Sweep, dust, or vacuum with a hard-floor tool. No beater bar.
  • Blot spills as they happen. Do not let liquid stand on the joints.
  • Damp-mop with a laminate or hard-surface cleaner the mill names (Shaw R2X Hard Surface is the Shaw product). No mop-and-bucket flood, no steam mop, no oil soap, no wax, no citrus or ammonia cleaners.
  • Felt pads under furniture. Do not slide appliances across the floor.

Warranty

  • Shaw laminate residential letters commonly include lifetime structural integrity plus stain, wear-through, and fade coverage. Water resistance is written into many current VersaLock-style products under normal use — it is not a flood warranty.
  • Shaw repairs or replaces affected material. Reasonable labor is typically included for the first two years when the floor was professionally installed.
  • Register the floor and keep a cutting. Claims go through the dealer with a receipt and photos. shawfloors.com/en-us/warranties/laminate.

Other Shaw floors

Care

  • Shaw also makes hardwood and resilient. Care follows the product on your ticket — hardwood stays dry; resilient gets a damp mop and a hard-surface cleaner. Do not use a carpet machine on either.

Warranty

  • Hardwood and resilient each have their own Shaw letter. Ask us for the PDF that shipped with your style.

Our year on top of theirs

Artistic Design Studio warrants materials and labor for one year on work we sold and installed. The mill letter above is separate and often longer. We keep the order so a factory claim has a ticket. See the studio warranty.
